Thank you for sharing some of your story and when your memoir is done, if available for others to read, please write again and share the title. And whether it is ever publihed or not – I hope writing it is healing for you!! And thank you for your good wishes!!!
]]>Thank you for all you do help others in need. I believe we have gotten a little “out of whack” where healing and professionalism intersect. I count myself as one of your survivors, having grown up during the civil rights movement in south central Los Angeles, unhappy, dysfunctional/alcoholic parents doing the best they could with the tools they had at the time. I believe if my mother had been diagnosed (which she never was) manic depression or bipolar would have been probably. As a teenager I self soothed with sex, drugs and rock n roll, often putting myself in precarious situation hoping that death would come and ease my pain.
I am currently writing my story about my journey to health and happiness and while it may never be read by anyone other than me it is cathartic to say the least.
I wish you a speedy recovery and remission for life. Thank you again for sharing your journey.
